Обосновывается новая идея организации национальной сети библиотек. Ее культурно-просветительская миссия дополняется актуальными направлениями — идеологическим, научно-техническим, экономическим и оборонным. Главная цель национальной сети библиотек, по мнению автора, — создание достаточных информационных ресурсов и удовлетворение потребностей общества в широком спектре знаний.

Рассмотрены возможности реализации этой идеи в России.

The substantiation of a new idea – the organization of the national network of libraries. Its cultural and educational mission is supplemented with actual directions — ideological, scientific, technical, economic and defensive. The main purpose of the national network of libraries, according to the author, is the creation of sufficient information resources and the satisfaction of requirements of society in a wide spectrum of knowledge.

The author considered the possibilities of the realization of this idea in Russia.
