Abstract
«Preservation» and «accessibility» - these two concepts represent core directions of activities of libraries, archives and museums. Based on the experience of research-and-development Document Conservation Centre of the Russian State Library, the article considers the possibility of the existence, interaction and development of these directions in a harmonious collaboration, without replacing one another.
