Abstract
Review on the book of T.F.Karatygina, the Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of Moscow State University of Culture and Arts, is devoted to the reconstruction of the history and theoretical generalization of the operation of special (mainly research and technical) libraries of Russia, “the Special libraries at the background of the history of the country”.
